Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to plan their adventure. Here is where our website stands, what we test, and what we know still needs work.

Cousins Paintball Inc, doing business as Cousins Adventure Parks wants cousinsadventureparks.com to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification or other assistive technology.

Our Target

We are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We do not yet claim full conformance: parts of the site come from outside providers we cannot fully control, and those are listed under Known Limitations below.

How We Tested (September 2026)

  • An automated check (axe-core) of 47 pages, including content that only appears as you scroll and the homepage promotion pop-up. Text over photos and gradients, which automated tools usually skip, is measured against the actual pixels behind it.
  • Keyboard-only testing of the main menu, the mobile menu, photo galleries, booking pages and forms: every control can be reached, the focus indicator is visible, and nothing traps the keyboard.
  • Pages at 320 pixels wide and at 200% zoom, and with the “reduce motion” setting turned on.
  • Headings, landmarks, labels and image descriptions checked in the browser’s accessibility tree. We have not yet done a full test with a live screen reader such as NVDA or VoiceOver.

What We Fixed in September 2026

  • Low-contrast text and buttons across the site, including the orange buttons and the cookie banner.
  • A focus indicator that stays visible on light, dark and colored backgrounds.
  • Menu behavior: Escape closes a menu and returns you to it, and the mobile menu behaves as a dialog.
  • Heading structure on blog posts, and written descriptions for gallery and blog photos.
  • The promotion pop-up no longer covers the cookie banner and is not shown on small screens.
  • Links that open in a new tab now say so to screen readers.

Known Limitations

  • Online booking form (Checkfront). The booking form on our location booking pages is provided by Checkfront and loads inside a frame we cannot change. Its tabs are not announced correctly to screen readers and some of its gray text is below the required contrast. If the form gets in your way, call 631-698-6230 and we will book for you.
  • Airball events calendar, job application and promotions widgets (Elfsight). These are provided by Elfsight and load only if you allow embedded content in the cookie settings. Some of their text is below the required contrast, and the calendar has a markup error that screen readers may report. For event dates, or to apply for a job another way, contact us using the details below.
  • Browser games.Paint Sniper and Game Plan ’99 in our Game Center need a mouse or touch screen. Airball ’87 and Hopper Drop ’88 have keyboard controls. The games are visual and are not usable with a screen reader.
