Does airsoft hurt?

Being hit by an airsoft pellet can cause a mild stinging sensation, similar to a quick snap from a rubber band. The level of discomfort varies based on factors such as the pellet's speed (measured in feet per second, or FPS), the distance from which it's fired, the weight of the BB, and the area of impact. For instance, shots from high-FPS guns at close range or to sensitive areas like the face or hands may cause more noticeable discomfort or minor bruising.
‍o minimize potential discomfort and ensure safety during airsoft games, it's essential to wear appropriate protective gear. This includes eye protection, such as goggles or full-face masks, to safeguard against eye injuries, as well as clothing that covers exposed skin to reduce the impact of pellets. Additionally, many airsoft fieldsles like minimum engagement distances and FPS limits to further enhance player safety.
